Chris Nelson of Scotland seemed both relieved and delighted after claiming his first WWO Tour title at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA.

The Ol' Scot, who has been in the hunt of the Red Jacket of the WWO for ten year, shot a 74, 74, 77 to beat the rest of the field by 13 shots.

"This is my first win, and it was really hard," he said. "It has taken a monkey off my back, having lost so many years in a row."

"I got myself into a great position in the first round, let a few shots slip when with a errant drives. I fought back and it is nice to hold it together in the last round and shoot 77 to net another few strokes to my lead."

As is the tradition of the WWO, last year's winner, Nelson Cooney of Ireland, presented the prestigious Red Jacket and the Commissioner of the WWO presented the plaque that will bear Nelson's name.

Afterward, a few of the winners from the past WWO championships joined Nelson to celebrate his victory and remember their own.

Congratulations to Team C !!!!

Team C (Chris Nelson, Eric Newquist and Pat Ennis) won the team competition on Thursday to claim their prize at the Champion's Dinner Thursday. Team C and Team B were tied after the first round of best ball play but Team C pulled away to lead the second round of two man best ball. The winners dinner included a steak that rivaled Ruth's Chris' steak house (Mr. Ennis was heard complementing the staff for their excellent service).

Congratulations to Chris, Eric and Pat!!!

ETHNIC DIVERSITY AT WWO

In late breaking news two time red jacket winner Chuck Xing Xong Nam announces entry into WWO X. Negotiations with Nam came to a conclusion in the late hours though Nam’s buy in (sponsorship) has not yet been determined. The addition of Nam adds a definite competitive flavor to this years WWO and creates a promising dynamic (3) 3 man team competition. The WWO has undergone some criticism in recent years that it looked much like the “good ol’ boys network” of Augusta. Get the cigars ready boys!

Let’s get ready to Ruuuuuuummmmmmmmmblllllle !!!!!!!

Get Ready Fellers!

Breaking news! The Chaplain rejoins WWO.

Looking out his window, a tear in his eye as he watches the fellas depart for WWO IX, The Chaplain humbly makes his case for reinstatement before the Commission. The benevolent dictator from the US graciously granted the Chaplain a waiver for WWO X.

~Welcome back Pat!
